Team Gymnasts and Parents:
June is shaping up to be a
very busy month. With our year-end show, Olympic Trials, and the optional level
gymnasts attending USAIGC Nationals in Florida, we felt that it was impossible
to squeeze in team camp as well! But, because we feel that team camp provides
such a great opportunity for skill development and also motivates the gymnasts
in such a positive way that we did not want to miss it.
So, we have schedule camp
for the week of July 14th. This will be exactly half way through
summer schedule and should be great timing to give them an extra push as they
work on their skills for the upcoming season. It will also allow the second half
of the summer practice to continue developing these skills.
Because of our new
location, we will structure camp a little differently this year. Camp will run
as follows:
Tuesday, July
15th, Wednesday, July 16th and Thursday, July 17th
9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday, July 18th
11:00 am to 6:00 pm camp; 6:00 “show and tell” for parents; 7:00 sleepover
Saturday,
July 19th we would like to schedule a fun team-building day somewhere
like Caledonia or Cowans Gap. We will be discussing this further and letting
everyone know soon. We will probably be looking for parents to help with
transportation.
We have tried very hard to
come up with a time that hopefully will allow as many gymnasts to attend as
possible. We are getting you the information early, because we feel that this
concentrated time working on perfecting and learning new skills is very
important for the gymnasts’ training.
Even though we don’t
have the pool on a daily basis, we have already begun thinking of great crafts
and fun games to go along with all the hard work!
The cost for camp this
year is $240.00. A non-refundable
deposit of $120.00 is due by Saturday, April 28, 2007. The balance of $120.00
must be paid in full by the first day of camp.
We will not have our
regularly scheduled team practices the week of camp.
If your daughter participates in camp, your tuition for July will be
prorated, otherwise full tuition is expected.
We look forward to seeing
you at camp!
